So you’re in the middle of printing your new business plan or a report and suddenly you hear the dreaded noise of the printer running out of paper. We’ve all had it happen and it can be a real pain in the neck. However, have you considered the quality of printer paper you’re using? Did you know that 80% of the print job is down to the quality of the paper you’re using?

For most printing jobs, simple good old plain white paper will do. However, if you’re printing an important document like a report or a photo for example, you’ll need specialist printer paper. Photo paper is glossy and usually offers a professional finish - you may even want to use photo paper for the front page of your report to add that professional finish to your work.

Business plans and other such important documents require that addition quality and there are various ways that you can go about getting it. Printer paper is very cheap if you buy from somewhere like Tesco where they offer their value range. However, other stores offer higher quality paper and although you will need to pay more, it’s worth it for that extra little something.

Next time you’re printing, you’ll need to think about the job you’re doing. Are you going to need specialist paper or will ordinary printer paper be sufficient? Most people will only ever use the ordinary white paper but if you’re printing something special, it’s nice to use a higher quality paper to get that professional finish.

Gradients are important and usually the higher gradient the paper has, the higher quality it will be when printing. The good gradients mean that the ink will stick to the paper better and this means a clearer finish which shows a more professional look and feel to the documents. Most of the work is down to the paper that you use, not the ink or the printer.

Finding high quality printer paper is simple but next time you start a printing project, remember to consider a different type of paper. You can use ordinary plain paper for your everyday printing needs but when it comes to special projects, it’s a good idea to use specialist paper if you can.
